FAQ

The most important thing to know about sheets, towels, and other launderable linens is that in Massachusetts, you
must provide your own.* Launderable linens include sheets and pillow cases; bath towels, wash cloths, and bath mats; dish towels; and beach towels.

If you are unable to bring them with you, there are commercial linen rental services available. Some will even deliver them to your rental cottage and collect them when you check out. One such company is The Furies at 508 349-1141. http://www.thefuriesonline.com/rentals.php

Some tenants pack their linens and beach items and mail them to themelves in care of our office to await their arrival. Be sure to include packing tape, a shipping label, and a marker. The service counters in our local post office are open until about 11:30 AM Saturdays. (Check ahead for the hours of the most convenient post office to where your rental is.)

* This is a state law, part of the tax code that governs Room Occupancy Tax. At the present time, privately owned cottages and homes are exempt from tax if they do not provide the same "transient" services as motels and other commercial accommodations. Commercial services include providing launderable linens, providing cleaning during occupancy, and renting for less than a week.
