The Lights' living room is made for vacation living and that feeling of being comfortable in a bathing suit, bathrobe, or biking clothes. A slider opens out to a large deck with a grill and an expansive southern view of Blackfish Creek, which in colonial days was a navigable waterway to the port of South Wellfleet and is now enjoyed by sailors, kayakers, and other small boaters. A casement window in the east corner shows Blackfish Creek toward the South Wellfleet General Store and info booth, the port area where there once was an inn for sailors. These views are shared by the living and dining areas.
Although not a large room, the kitchen is planned for more than one cook to share the space and is convenient for indoor or outdoor cooking.
Bedrooms in the light cottage are on two levels. two on the main floor and three downstairs. One bedroom has a double bed; the other four have 2 twins each There is also a futon in the downstairs rec room. The cottage allows 10 to 12 people. but individual permission is needed to have more than 10.
